    Default Town Hall Discussion: Future of the advisory board or other means of managing the message board

    As most people probably know, I have disbanded the advisory board as it existed up until two days ago. The announcement is located here if you haven't read it yet.

    Now, we have to decide how we are going to move forward.

    Will we:

    • Reconstitiute the advisory board with pre-defined duties, potentially term limits and define the method in which people will be added to the message board.
    • Rely on Town Hall threads with Tned making final decision on rules and message board changes
    • Other: some other method for keeping this a community driven message board.


    Please discuss how you want BroncosForums to move forward in making decisions, rules and message board enhancements.

    I'd like to start by saying I have 100% faith in your ability to act as a fair administrator of this forum with the feedback of the Town hall Tned, and you know that.

    That said, I think giving the Advisory Board another shot with predetermined positions so you don't have to do so much work would be great. I don't think it's an immediate need though.

    It may end up just being too hard to pull off on a site like this, regardless of how great the theory is. I'm not sure. I would love to see it get a second shot though... with some new parameters.

    Just my $.02 though.

    FWIW; I would say to reconstitute the advisory board with pre-defined duties, defined terms with possible limits and half voted in by the people in which they represent, half voted in by mods and you tned acting as speaker of the board and used as a tie breaker vote when needed.

    I liked the idea, the theory - if you will - of the advisory board. However, said board, in practice, may not work per se. Heretofore I would say that we commence with option two.

    P.S. I have not been drinking...
