Question Power Failure with New OS...?

Rather than making an account on another forum and asking for help I'd see if anyone can help me here.

So I have an et1161-05 seen here
After I bought it I installed XP Pro x32 over Vista Basic x32. Since then I installed a GA311 Network Adapter. Never had a problem.

Recently I bought and installed Windows 7 x64 and ever since then I have had several random power failures. I was thinking it was a driver problem, and it still may be but I have updated every single driver through device manager.
Anybody have any ideas? The only thing I can think of is that since it's a prebuilt manufactured PC the drivers albeit current are unfit for Windows 7 x64.

Define random. What are you doing when the shutdowns occur? You might be getting a BSOD and it reboots before you see it.

You can try the things in this thread to start:

Sorry that I don't have more to go on than this, but that should get you started in the right direction.

Thanks for the help.

Usually I'm just on the Internet or something and it shuts off. I think I fgiured out the problem. NetGear has no 7 x64 drivers for GA311 and it's been using ones from Realtek. I guess I can just disable the card and use the ethernet port on the board since I'm not getting over 100mb/s anyway. Hopefully that works.

Even though it's based on RealTek chipset. I guess I can just disable the card and use the ethernet port on the board since I'm not getting over 100mb/s anyway. Hopefully that works.

No it hasn't. Maybe I should physically remove the card and see if that works.
