DENVER — The Denver Broncos have acquired quarterback Zach Wilson from the New York Jets, according to a report by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

According to that report, Denver will swap a sixth-round draft pick for New York’s seventh-round selection. The Jets will also foot the bill for part of Wilson’s 2024-25 salary. He is owed $5.453 million next year as part of the 4-year, $35 million contract he signed with the Jets after being drafted second overall in 2021.

Yipppppeee. That might be a bit exciting for a team who has the caliber to work with him, but our QB work is shit, so it will probably be more of the same Wilson we saw in NY.

Does his mom have any friends in the Denver area???

It's a good get, IMO. No one does well with the Jets; they're eternal losers. Kid has matured. He gets to fight for his NFL life while getting a chance to earn his way back onto the field. Hope he does well.

Hope he does well too, but I have no trust that we can build a QB...especially a broken one from the Jets.

Sucks so bad to be this pessimistic about this team.

I'm a fairly pessimistic ******* who hates everything. But, SP is good with QBs, and ZW is talented. I don't know if ZW is broken; I think leaving the Jets is probably a better feeling than getting some booty, tbh.

He can run a bootleg and read one side of the field. That's a starting point the Broncos can work with. And regardless of what the NYJ owner (unfairly) said, ZW is at least a backup.

Expectations are low so no pressure on him.

Former #2 pick, actually not even that long ago. Good flier with high upside. I hope he wins the job if we trade back.

How many players can you name off the top of your head acted like they had written their HoF acceptance speech before they were even drafted into the league. As much as I advocate that some of the greatest players in NFL history were late bloomers, I want noting to do with Zac Wilson because he the 1st player that comes to my mind when talking about players who come across as being like that who are currently in the league, while Ryan Leaf is the all-time example.

I guess we'll have to wait a season or 2 to see who right
