Anyone who watches football knows QB is the most important position in football. I agree we need a QB badly. But you don’t just automatically draft a player because of the position he plays. That’s leads to reaching on players and missing out on pro bowlers at other positions. You said we must draft a qb in round 1 this year. And if he doesn’t play well, do it all over again the year after.

You do that you’ll start becoming the jets and browns (taking trash QBs in 1st round over and over again). What if the QB class looks like the 2013 QB draft class. You gonna draft EJ Manuel with a top 10 pick? If the coaches and GM love the guy then go get him. But to say you must draft a Qb no matter what is reckless and not sound football strategy.

    Btw
We didn’t have the top 2 things you mentioned when we won our last super bowl. Just an fyi
I know plenty about football. Think what you want don't really care to be honest, this team will go nowhere unless it drafts a top Qb prospect if you pick wrong you do it again that's my point. Also 2015 was lightning in a bottle because of our top 5 generational defense but we still had Peyton, and Harris played solid at LT as well. In the SB loss to Seattle we had all 4 of those things as well but Von was hurt.

Peyton was a bottom ranked QB and led the league in interceptions. He did us no favors. Every team we faced in the playoffs had better QBs yet we still won.

And Ryan Harris at LT. Come on man…

I’d be extremely stoked if we got Wilson

He's played in the NFL for 10 years and will turn 34 next season. He's almost certainly peaked. That doesn't mean he doesn't have any good years left. It just means that his best years are most likely behind him.

Of course they are happy. Luckily for Arizona they had the #1 pick in a class that had Murray. Imagine if they took Haskins or Daniel Jones instead. What do they do in the next draft. QB again?

You don't take Carson strong or ridder at pick 9 your right so if the top 3 guys are gone by nine then yes you work value but if Pickett, Corral or Willis are on that board at 9 and we don't take one were stupid.
    Cutler wasn’t top 10
Denver has drafted like 4 guys at QB in the first round in its entire history. One of them was Tebow. What a horrible horrible move. While teams like the browns (pre baker) and jets seem to draft QB in the first round every other year. Both teams are loser franchises.
Denver despite not ever drafting a QB in the top 10 has been a winning franchise.

Yes we need a QB. But I don’t want them to reach for one when there’s other players available at positions of need (OL for example).

I trust Paton a lot with his draft decisions. If he likes one of the QBs I trust he will go get him. But if he has one of the top OL prospects ranked higher then go get the OL and see how the rest of the first round/top of the second falls. Just like the Surtain situation last draft.

I still can’t believe you called it a worthless pick.

Too bad Bryce Young isn’t in this year’s draft.

We can always try to take him next year if the guy we take this year stinks….

Will probably need the first pick in the draft to do that.

This draft is rich in defensive players. They’re predicting no quarterback be selected in the top ten.
That said, we’re going into this upcoming season not knowing what we really have in Lock. I know it’s sounds like a broken record, but it’s true. Would Lock now be considered a veteran quarterback?

Speaking of the draft, the best quarterback available at the spot we’ll be picking at, would most likely be Kenny Pickett. Food for thought...
It’s important that we find a head coach like Doug Pederson or Jim Caldwell with experience in developing quarterbacks...

It’s hilarious that all of a sudden conditions have to be absolutely ideal to draft a QB, it’s almost as if 6 years of dogshit QB’s have taught us Broncos fans nothing.
