Is it just me or does he suck. He only punted twice but I felt they were both shit punts.

I feel like our punting game has been trash the last 3 years. Other teams seem to have punters that can consistently flip field position. Our guy can barely punt it for 40 yards.

Probably has to do with our shit Special teams coach. But with our defense, being able to pin teams back would be a huge advantage.

Thought the same thing. Ball comes off like a lead weight from his leg. The Vikings punter had a 63 yarder that flipped the field and gave them a chance (that they blew). Definitely not an asset.

I hate it.

A lot of people don’t talk about punters but it makes a difference. We only saw 2 punts today which is a good thing (go offense). But the 2 he did have I thought looked like crap.

Let’s see how it goes for the rest of the season.

Isn’t he supposed to be a directional punter, a master in placing the football deep and off to the sidelines?

That’s what was being said……

However it was probably the turf……. He’ll bounce back and do his thing. He’s not supposed to be a huge boom it guy though. He’s supposed to be a limit returns guy.

You probably think special teams doesn’t matter. But it does. Especially for defense first teams like ours.

It absolutely matters just as much as everything else. Martin ain’t going to be a guy booming punts 63 yards in the air though…. More like 40-45 at an angle that bounces out of bounds after rolling a few extra yards

Yea I think that’s trash strategy. We gave this guy big money last summer to punt it 40 yards

If we’re punting from our own 49 yes

Martin will hover that 40-50 yard average he’s been kicking at since forever. Can’t say his particular skill isn’t worth it aslong as there’s no returns or returns that are like 3-5 yards like we seen yesterday right? Our coverage team laid some good licks on those two punts and the PR guy got no yardage.

Kick it 63 and give up 15 yards plus on the return is wack!

I’m cool with his 45 yarders with no returns.

He punted from our 41 to there 22. Thats ***** shit

A good punter is able to pin them back more when punting from his own 41

Absolutely but it was only two punts in week 1 bro…… let the man leg warm up a bit he didn’t hardly punt the entire pre season because everyone was scoring lol.

He’ll be able to put a extra 5-10 yards and a bounce on it for you this week when his number is called. Don’t worrry meatball
