Default Report: The NFL is moving the Pro Bowl from Hawaii to Orlando

Put away those hula skirts and leis, ladies and gentlemen, because the Pro Bowl is leaving Hawaii. According to a report from Scott Soshnick at Bloomberg.com, the Pro Bowl will move from Honolulu to Orlando, Florida.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to Bloomberg that Orlando is among four cities bidding to host the game, along with Honolulu, Houston and Sydney, Australia. Per the report, the game will be played in the Citrus Bowl, which completed a $200 million renovation in 2014.

The report did not specify when the Pro Bowl will be moving to Orlando, but it did state that the NFL's contract with Hawaii's tourism authority expires on May 31, so the Pro Bowl could be headed to Orlando as soon as next year. The game has been held in Honolulu every year since 1979 with the exception of 2010 (Miami, Florida) and 2015 (Glendale, Arizona).

Expect the players to find more excuses not to go. Half the time, their wives/girlfriends insisted they not pass up a trip to Hawaii. They won't care about an all-expense paid trip to Orlando or Houston.

Just put it in the city where the Super Bowl is. They all end up there the week before anyway. Why is it so hard to see this?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Seriously. Orlando? Good luck with all that.

Pity they can't move it from the week before the SB back to the week AFTER, where it belongs. No one wants to see a bunch of also-rans play a meaningless game any more than any of them want to play it in the first place. It used to be a nice complement to the SB: After we saw which conference had the best team, we got to see which conference had the best PLAYERS, and they were ALL there playing a nice relaxing game for fun with all the seasons pressures behind them.

Now it's just pointless: Let's see which two arbitrarily selected HoF media personalities is better at scouting talent exclusively from All Pros. Big deal. Of course they're moving it: Hawaii neither needs nor wants it, but Orlando's so desperate for NFL attention they're begging for a team.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

Player contracts are so expensive now, nobody really wants to play an extra game where they might get hurt.

Nobody wants to be the next Robert Edwards.

B ing back the sills competition. That was more fun anyway....for the defenses etc, bring on some sports science stuff and let them compete that way.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

It's easy for us to say end it, but the truth is the probowl gets better ratings than most baseball playoff games. If the networks pay for it, the nfl will provide it.

I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoy the ProBowl. I don't look at it as a real football game. Just entertainment.

This game is dying a painfully slow death - putting it in Orlando seems like the final nail in the coffin.

I'd rather watch the 4th preseason game than the Pro Bowl - at least guys are trying hard in the former.
